To help you select, here are the rules for NZ roads:
In New Zealand the rules for using traffic control devices like cones are specified by NZTA’s ‘Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management' (CoPTTM).
NZTA only allows 900mm reflective traffic cones to be used on New Zealand roads (except in the case of cones used temporarily to protect roadmaking paint, when 450mm cones are allowed).
To be CoPTTM compliant, cones must:
For more information on this you can visit the NZTA Website. Off highway uses
In non-highway situations (carparks, schools, sports grounds, conferences, pedestrian walkways etc) the CoPTTM rules don't apply and smaller cones may be used.
Standard traffic cones
Adsafe offers a range of reflectorised and non-reflectorised standard traffic cones. All standard cones come with high-quality colourfast orange PVC designed to resist fading and provide high-visibility protection.
Adsafe’s 900mm reflectorised highway cones have high-intensity reflective collars compliant to NZTA specifications and meet CoPTTM requirements for cone colour, unballasted weight and the size and placement of reflective bands.
Collapsible traffic cones
Collapsible cones are ideal where you don’t have much room for storing road cones, especially for use in emergency vehicles and breakdown kits.
Adsafe's 900mm collapsible cones are the same height and dimensions as standard traffic cones but collapse down to 50mm or less in height, taking up minimal vehicle storage space.
They are complete with a removable LED beacon which can fit inside to illuminate the entire cone or can be mounted in the hole on top of the cone. Collapsible cones are ideal for deployment in roadside emergency situations, but note that they do not comply with CoPTTM's requirements for regular traffic management use.
